This may be a long shot, but one of the larger cells of the enclosure contains a blob-like mass. The image above shows the Melipona beecheii cell provisioning and oviposition process; worker eggs are placed vertically on liquid larval food in the cell. The blob in the enclosure may just be this liquid larval food. Then again, maybe not...
